Tyre and wind noise, as well as suspension and engine noise produce sounds which negatively affect driving comfort. In sound-insulated car doors, the loudspeakers “play” more effectively, so that we do not have the impression of listening to a dull sound from a tin can. Is there a risk of losing the warranty if I mute the car?
Absolutely not. When soundproofing, we carry out activities that do not affect the structure or installation of the car. Consequently, there are no grounds for questioning the manufacturer’s warranty.
What effect does muting have?
When comprehensively soundproofing a car – depending on the speed at which the measurement is taken – we “cut” between 2 and 3.5 dB (-3dB = 2 times quieter).
How much more does the mute weigh?
Comprehensive soundproofing – depending on material class – from 35 to 50 kg more to the total weight of the vehicle.
Are the products used for soundproofing approved?
We only use butyl mats approved for automotive use over a wide temperature range, with all the necessary approvals and CE certification.
Can only part of the car be silenced?
When replacing the factory sound system or extending it, we recommend soundproofing a minimum of the doors. The question of the other components remains open – it is up to the customer to know from which part of the car the most noise is coming while driving.
Is the soundproofing covered by the guarantee?
We give a 5-year guarantee on the soundproofing we carry out.
